ADRF Introduces PowerSmart™ Control for ADXV Series DAS with Up to 60% Reduction in Power Consumption
Software update helps network operators optimize performance, conserve energy, reduce operating costs with intelligent power management
BURBANK, Calif., Sept. 01, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced RF Technologies, Inc. (ADRF), the largest provider of pure-play distributed antenna system (DAS) and repeaters for over a quarter century, today announced PowerSmartTM Control, a new software functionality for its flagship ADXV Series DAS designed to optimize network performance while reducing power consumption by up to 60%. Through the web-based graphical user interface (GUI) in the DAS headend (HE), network operators and enterprise customers can precisely manage energy usage, helping lower operating costs and support sustainability initiatives without compromising network performance.
PowerSmartTM Control introduces intelligent software-driven power optimization that dynamically adjusts DAS operation based on network needs. By reducing unnecessary energy consumption during periods of lower demand, the solution enables customers to operate more efficiently while maintaining the coverage and capacity expected from the ADXV platform.
The new software functionality for the ADXV Series DAS achieves energy savings through three primary capabilities:
-
Power Output Adjustment: The output power of all remote units (RU) can be adjusted to a user-specified level through the GUI using their automatic level control (ALC) function.
-
RF Band Standby Mode: RF bands can be shutdown for any RUs according to a schedule, allowing individual frequency bands to be disabled during periods when they are not needed.
-
MIMO to SISO Switching: MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) configurations can be temporarily converted to SISO (Single-Input and Single-Output) for power reduction during lower traffic conditions.
"While ADRF is known for our hardware innovation, we are always investing equal resources towards improving our software to help customers maximize the value of their wireless infrastructure," said Victor Mejia, Product Manager at Advanced RF Technologies, Inc. "By combining intelligent power management with the proven performance of our ADXV Series DAS platform, customers can significantly reduce energy consumption and operating costs while maintaining the high-quality connectivity their users depend on."
Organizations across every industry are placing greater emphasis on sustainability and energy efficiency, especially with the rapid adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) driving higher power demands. PowerSmartTM Control empowers building owners and wireless operators to significantly reduce energy consumption across DAS deployments to support these efforts.
PowerSmartTM Control is available now and it’s included in the latest software version for the ADXV Series DAS platform. For more information, visit www.adrftech.com.
